According to the Free Dictionary, a Papal Bull is a formal proclamation, decree or an edict issued and sealed by the Pope. The word "Bulla" or "Bull" refers to a lead seal that is
placed onto the paper it is written, much like what English Kings have used to place a seal or stamp which has been pressed onto wax by it's sender prior to distribution.
As Christians, we know that the mind is a sacred place which is made by design to govern the body. The body is what connects the actions
of the mind with God's will in the soul. The true God of Heaven and Lord of Lords gives us "free will" and does not force our decisions much less our actions governing our freedom of speech,
our freedom of worship, our freedom of press and our right to choose whom we will serve.
During the Dark Ages, the freedom of worship was taken away from millions of Christians. They were not given the liberty of reading the scriptures for themselves without the interpretation
by the clergy. Then, in that Christians had to go through the clergy for the forgiveness of their sins, this brought about many opportunities for abuses by requiring the payment of penances
for the forgivness of sins. These abuses went on year after year without reform.
John Wycliffe (1331-1384) is considered the Morning Star of the Reformation. He was a scholar, a teacher, a writer, a philosopher, a translator and a
preacher. He was responsible for translating Matthew, Mark, Luke and John into the English language. Within his writings, teachings and preaching, there were three doctrinal beliefs that
posed a threat to the Roman Catholic Church:
1- One's individual interpretation of the Bible is the best guide for a moral life as opposed to recieving sacraments as a way to salvation.
2- Holiness of an individual is more important than holding an official office of the church.
3- He was opposed to the exorbitant luxury of the Catholic Church.
Due to this, "the papal thunders were soon hurled against him. Three bulls were dispatched to England, to the university, to the king and to the prelates, all commanding immediate and
decisive measures to silence the teacher of heresy." Great Controversy, EG White.
Analyzing the three Papal Bulls that were issued to John Wycliffe, we see:
1- A General Bull that went out to all of this English speaking nation.
2- A Special Bull that went out to the groups that were supportive of Wycliffe such as the King of England and Oxford University where he taught and spoke.
3- A Specific Bull that went out directly to Wycliffe demanding him to appear.
The Catholic Church was so upset at what he had done and how the Gospel was spreading like wildfire, that in that he died of natural causes before he could be put to death, they exhumed
his bones from the grave, burned them and then threw them in the river.
Then when Martin Luther (1483-1546) translated the Bible into the common language of the German people expressed his opposition to the payment of indulgences, in 1517 he nailed his theses in
protest on the door of the All Saints Catholic Church in Wittenburg.
Due to this action, in 1520 he was issued a Papal Bull warning him to stop. Then in 1520 he set fire to this Papal Bull. Then in 1521 he received another Papal Bull summoning him to
appear before the Diet of Worms for his hearing, asking him to recant.
At the Diet of Worms Martin Luther stated, "Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Scriptures or by clear reason (for I do not trust either in the pope or in councils alone, since it is
well known that they have often erred and contradicted themselves), I am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted and my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and will not recant
anything, since it is neither safe nor right to go against conscience. May God help me. Amen
Institution of the Jesuit Papal Bull:
After being wounded in battle, in 1534, Ignatius Loyola, a nobleman with military background instituted a male society thereafter known as the Society of Jesus of the Catholic Church for whoever
desires to serve as a soldier of God, which gathered and professed vows of poverty, chastity, including a special vow of obedience to the Pope in matters of mission, direction and assignment.
Ignatius's plan of the order organization was approved by Pope Paul III in 1540, by a Bull containing "The Formula of the Institute." The vows of the Jesuit Society are surprisingly
violent that does not at all match their benign appearance. The specific vows of the Jessuit Priesthood may be viewed, on the next tab of this website.
On April 11, 2015 Jesuit Pope Francis issued a General Papal Bull announcing that 2015-16 will be "A Holy Year of Mercy."
THE EXTRAORDINARY YEAR OF JUBILEE:
Starting December 8, 2015, the whole Catholic Church, lead by Pope Francis, will begin to celebrate an Extraordinary Year of Jubilee of Divine Mercy.
The Pope previously stated that he invisions himself as Joseph, when his brothers returned to him, much like the Protestant Christians whom have wandered away, he is being merciful by
giving them time to reconcile their differences by their own free will and come back to the mother Catholic Church during this grace period.
On November 20, 2016, this extraordinary year of Jubilee will end. The real question is: At that time, when this grace period ends, will there will be any more mercy for those who
refuse to bow down to this likeness of a man acting as Vicar of Jesus Christ, because their conscience dictates otherwise?
Can a Leopard change it's spots? We are told in Revelation 13:2 "Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion.
And the dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority."
Are we expecting this powerful beast like power to act like a roaring lion, seeking whom it may devour, and are we expecting this beast like power to rip apart Christians who dear to defy it's
authority, or are we on the alert expecting this beast like power to act like a leopard, sneaking in the dark, patiently waiting for the precise moment to prey on it's inexpecting victims?
April 11, 2015 Announcing the upcoming Year of Jubilee:
When an individual or a system of this likeness imposes what we may think and say or publish, what we may buy or sell, which dictates how we can conduct ourselves concerning issues of
conscience that govern to whom we may serve or believe in, this shall bring about a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to this time. It is then that the Michael will
stand up in our defense. Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the thousand, three hundred and thirty-five days.
