We are told in Psalms 1 that blessed is the man that delights in the Law of God, which meditates day and night and he shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water that bringeth forth fruit in his season, in which his leaf shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
As we compare scripture with scripture, we find a parallel to this description in Revelation 22 which states that proceeding out of the throne of God and the Lamb there is a crystal like river flowing on either side, in which there is the Tree of Life baring twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
It is noteworthy for me to mention that the number of manners of fruit and the number of months it bears fruit are twelve. Twelve is a number which symbolizes "plenty" and "abundance". Upon studying the design of the human organism we see that there also are twelve major systems including the Circulatory, Skeletal, Digestive, Lymphatic, Integumentary (skin), Nervous, Muscular, Urinary, Hematologic, Reproductive, Respiratory and Endocrine. Notwithstanding, there also is a minor system called the Immune system.
The Immune system is minor not because of it's size, because it is the largest of them all, but rather is considered minor because it complements them all by it's ability to help one another for the mutual benefit of all.
Just as there are 12 months in a Year, 12 manner of Fruit in the Tree of Life, 12 major Systems in the human organism, 12 Tribes in Israel, 12 in every Dozen, two sets of 12 in a 24 hr. Day, 12 Gates in Heaven, 12 Stones in the Efod of the High Priest, there are also 12 colors which make up the Rainbow spectrum. It is interesting for us to note that in the human body there are phytonutrients which were made by design in 12 colors that are just as valuable for our health as Gold and Silver. Even though we cannot eat of this gold and silver like fruit of the Garden of Eden, the Lord in his mercy has left us an abundance of fruit, vegetables, nuts and grains for us to eat plenty of once we grow it from the seeds he himself has created. This becomes more and more relevant when at times these original foods are either sold out or have become genetically modified.
The next logical question one should ask is how can I apply this into my personal life. Ask the Lord to guide your study and read the Tab entitled "Wild Edibles".
